Ball Valve flanged ends - 2 pcs full bore ball valve flanges ANSI B-16.5 s-150. FIRE SAFE Certification - 2528A | Genebre
Genebre 2528A ANSI 150 Fire-Safe Ball Valve
The Genebre 2528A is a two-piece flanged ball valve, full bore, with ANSI B16.5 Class 150 flanges and fire-safe construction. The body is stainless steel CF8M / AISI 316, with stainless steel ball and stem, PTFE + 15% glass-filled seats, Viton O-rings, and an antistatic device. Operating temperature range: -30°C to +180°C.
Construction and Process Function
The full-bore design maintains a flow passage close to the pipe bore, reducing pressure drop compared with reduced-bore valves. The two-piece body construction is commonly used for on/off isolation in process lines where flanged ANSI connections are specified.
- Valve type: 2-piece floating ball valve
- Ends: flanged, ANSI B16.5 Class 150
- Body material: CF8M / AISI 316 stainless steel
- Seats: PTFE with 15% glass fibre reinforcement
- Stem sealing: Viton O-ring
- Design features: antistatic device, fire-safe certification according to manufacturer documentation
Suitable Media and Operating Conditions
Selection should be based on chemical compatibility, pressure-temperature limits, and leakage requirements. Typical services include industrial water, compressed air, inert gases, light hydrocarbons, compatible chemicals, and general process fluids within the limits of CF8M, PTFE/GF, and Viton.
For aggressive chemicals, high temperature service, vacuum duty, or cycling applications, the valve should be checked against the manufacturer’s pressure-temperature ratings and the seat/seal compatibility chart.
Actuator Options
The valve includes an ISO 5211 mounting pad for direct installation of pneumatic or electric actuators. Manual versions are supplied with a lockable lever. Actuated assemblies should be sized according to differential pressure, media condition, safety factor, available air supply, and required fail position.
- Manual operation with locking lever
- Pneumatic actuator for remote on/off control
- Electric actuator for utility or low-cycling automation
- Limit switches, solenoid valves, and position feedback can be added where required
Typical Industrial Applications
- Chemical and petrochemical process lines
- Compressed air and inert gas networks
- Industrial water and utility services
- ANSI 150 process piping systems
- Installations requiring fire-safe valve documentation
- Skids, tank farms, transfer lines, and isolation duties
Variant and Selection Notes
Compared with reduced-bore ball valves, the full-bore 2528A is preferred where lower pressure loss or piggable/cleanable flow paths are relevant. Compared with threaded ball valves, the flanged ANSI version is more suitable for larger pipe sizes, bolted maintenance access, and standardized process piping connections.
Seat leakage, fugitive emissions, and maintenance intervals depend on media cleanliness, operating temperature, cycling frequency, and installation quality. Abrasive or crystallizing fluids may reduce seat life.
FAQ
Is the Genebre 2528A suitable for modulating control?
It is primarily an on/off isolation valve. For throttling or continuous modulation, a characterized control valve is normally more appropriate.
Can it be automated?
Yes. The ISO 5211 pad allows mounting of pneumatic or electric actuators, subject to torque verification.
What should be checked before procurement?
Confirm DN/NPS size, ANSI 150 rating, flange standard, media compatibility, temperature, differential pressure, actuator requirement, and fire-safe certificate requirements.
Description
Certificates
GENEBRE, S.A. has implemented a quality management system to control the designing and manufacturing of fluid control valves, as well as the distribution of home and public taps.
This system complies with the requirements of the current international UNE-EN-ISO 9001:2015, certified by the prestigious German certification organization TÜV Rheinland.
In 2000, GENEBRE began to comply with the European Business Excellence Model, more commonly known as the EFQM. As a result, in 2003, the Catalan Regional Government awarded us with the Quality Award. This new system enables us to ensure the quality of GENEBRE's products and also to offer added value to our clients.
In 2012, we obtained the certification for the Environmental Management System. This system is certified according to the UNE-EN-ISO 14001:2015, also by TÜV Rheinland. GENEBRE QUALITY AND ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY
