Ball Valve Class 150/300 - Type 515/530 FB | JC

JC Type 515/530 FB Class 150/300 Flanged Full Bore Ball Valve

Two-piece full-bore ball valve with ANSI flanged ends for positive isolation in industrial liquid and gas lines. Available in ASME Class 150 and Class 300, with ASTM A216 WCB, ASTM A351 CF8M or ASTM A352 LCC body materials and PTFE seats.

Construction

  • Split-body construction, full-bore flow passage
  • Blowout-proof stem for pressure-retaining stem integrity
  • Non-removable antistatic device between ball, stem and body
  • Cavity pressure equalisation hole
  • Live-loaded stem packing to compensate for packing relaxation
  • ANSI flanged connection for bolted pipeline installation

Standards and compliance

Design and manufacturing compliance includes API 6D, PED, MSS SP 55, ATEX, Fire Safe API 607 / ISO 10497 / API 6FA, and fugitive emission requirements ISO 15848 / TA-LUFT. Wetted parts are suitable for services requiring NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 and NACE MR0103 / ISO 17945, subject to material selection and service verification.

Media and operating conditions

  • Typical media: hydrocarbons, fuel gas, process water, compatible chemicals, solvents and non-abrasive industrial gases.
  • Pressure capability is defined by ASME Class 150 or Class 300 flange rating and the valve pressure-temperature chart.
  • Temperature limits depend on PTFE seat capability, seal materials, body grade and fire-safe configuration.
  • Primarily intended for isolation duty; continuous throttling is not recommended for soft-seated ball valves.

Material selection

  • WCB: general process service, utilities and hydrocarbon lines where carbon steel is compatible.
  • CF8M: stainless steel body for corrosive fluids or where stainless compatibility is specified.
  • LCC: low-temperature carbon steel for services requiring impact toughness at reduced temperatures.

Actuation and sealing options

The valve may be supplied for manual lever operation, gear operator use on larger sizes, or pneumatic, electric or hydraulic actuation with a suitable mounting kit and coupling. Standard sealing is PTFE soft seat; packing and gasket selections should be checked against temperature, emissions class, fire-safe requirements and fluid compatibility.

Typical applications

Used in oil and gas facilities, chemical and petrochemical units, power plants, marine systems, tank terminals, mining services, waste treatment plants and transfer lines for special fluids requiring flanged isolation valves.

FAQ

When should Class 300 be selected? When the design pressure-temperature condition exceeds Class 150 limits or the piping specification requires Class 300 flanges.

Is it suitable for control service? It is intended for open/close isolation. Use a control valve or characterised ball valve for modulating duty.

What affects leakage and maintenance? Seat wear, stem packing load, cycling frequency, solids in the fluid, temperature cycling and correct flange bolting practice.
