Ball Valve Class 150/300 - Type 315/330/415/430 | ICP

IPC Class 150/300 Full-Bore Ball Valve Types 315/330/415/430

Two-piece full-bore flanged ball valve for on/off isolation in industrial liquid and gas services. The valve is supplied with ANSI flanged ends, pressure classes 150 lb and 300 lb, in sizes from 1/2 in to 8 in.

Construction and Materials

  • Body materials: ASTM A216 WCB for carbon steel piping systems, ASTM A351 CF8M for stainless or more corrosive services.
  • Ball: AISI 316.
  • Seats: modified PTFE, selected according to media compatibility, temperature and pressure drop conditions.
  • Wetted parts and bolting/nuts available in accordance with NACE MR0175 for sour service requirements.

Technical Characteristics

  • Full-bore port to reduce pressure loss and allow line flushing or pigging where applicable.
  • Anti-static device for electrically continuous service in flammable gas or liquid systems.
  • Lockable lever for isolation control and maintenance safety.
  • Stem design according to EN 15081.
  • Face-to-face dimensions according to ASME B16.10 Long Pattern.
  • ISO 5211 mounting pad for pneumatic or electric actuators.

Class 150 versus Class 300 Selection

Class 150 is normally selected for lower design pressure piping where the ASME pressure-temperature rating is sufficient. Class 300 is selected where higher design pressure, pressure cycling, or additional margin is required. Final selection shall consider design pressure, operating temperature, fluid phase, corrosion allowance, gasket rating and flange specification.

Operating Conditions and Media

The valve is suitable for isolation duty in process lines, utilities and auxiliary circuits handling water, industrial gases, oils, natural gas and low to medium pressure steam where modified PTFE seats are compatible. Temperature limits are governed by the PTFE seat material and the applicable ASME pressure-temperature rating of the body material.

Certifications and Compliance

  • CE marking.
  • ATEX for use in potentially explosive atmospheres where specified.
  • Fire Safe tested according to ISO 10497:2004.
  • Fugitive emission qualification according to ISO 15848-1:2006.

Actuation Options

Manual operation is by lockable lever. For on/off automation, the ISO 5211 top mounting interface allows installation of pneumatic or electric actuators, with accessories such as limit switches, solenoid valves and position indication as required by the control system.

Typical Industrial Use Cases

  • Battery limit isolation in process plants.
  • Utility headers for water, air, nitrogen and fuel gas.
  • Chemical and petrochemical service where material compatibility is confirmed.
  • Refinery and natural gas installations requiring anti-static and fire-safe design.
  • Maintenance isolation upstream or downstream of equipment skids.

FAQ

Is this valve suitable for throttling? It is intended for isolation duty. Continuous throttling may damage PTFE seats and increase leakage risk.

When should CF8M be selected? Use CF8M where stainless piping, corrosion resistance, or process compatibility requires an austenitic stainless valve body.

What determines seat leakage and service life? Seat material, differential pressure, temperature, solids content, cycling frequency and correct actuator sizing all affect shut-off performance and maintenance interval.
