JC Valves Trunnion Mounted Ball Valve FB Class 150/300/600

Trunnion mounted, split body, full bore ball valve with flanged ends, designed for isolation service in oil, natural gas, chemical, petrochemical, energy, tank terminals, and other industrial fluid applications. Available in Class 150 / 300 / 600. Body materials: ASTM A216 WCB (carbon steel) or ASTM A351 CF8M (stainless steel). Seat materials: PTFE, RPTFE, or Devlon, depending on media compatibility and temperature requirements.

Technical Configuration

  • Construction: 2-piece cast trunnion mounted
  • Bore: Full bore
  • Ball: Trunnion supported (not floating)
  • Stem: Blowout-proof design
  • Antistatic device: Non-removable
  • Stem sealing: Graphite packing
  • Seat springs: Inconel 750
  • Actuator interface: ISO 5211, per DN
  • Size range: Class 150/300 from 2" to 16", Class 600 from 2" to 12"

Trunnion Operation

In trunnion design, the ball is mechanically retained and pressure side loads are absorbed by the bearings. Seats are floating and spring-loaded: at low pressure, seat contact is maintained by spring force; at higher pressure, the process media increases seat load against the ball.

Seat Design and Cavity Relief

Standard JC construction is SPE (Single Piston Effect) with automatic cavity overpressure relief to the line. DPE (Double Piston Effect) is available; in this case, cavity overpressure is not automatically relieved and requires an external relief system or bleed valve. PMSS and emergency seat/stem sealant injection are available for temporary leakage mitigation until scheduled maintenance.

Standards and Certifications

Complies with API 6D, PED, MSS SP-55. Wetted parts per NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 and NACE MR0103 / ISO 17945. Fire-safe per API 607 / ISO 10497 / API 6FA. Fugitive emissions per ISO 15848 / TA-Luft. ATEX available for hazardous areas.

FAQ

When to select trunnion vs floating?
Trunnion is preferred for larger DN, higher differential pressures, or when lower operating torque is required.
