Clorius L3F / L3FA – Three-Way Control Valve Gun Metal
The Clorius L3F is a three-way flanged control valve designed for mixing or diverting flow in hot water and cold or warm seawater systems. It is used with a thermostat or electric actuator in industrial and marine temperature control systems.
L3F DN65–DN150
- Body: Gun metal.
- Seats, cone, shaft: Alu bronze CuAl10Fe5Ni5.
- PN10.
- Flanges according to DIN 86021.
- Actuator connection: G1B.
- Two balanced seats.
- Flow characteristic: nearly linear.
- Seat leakage: ≤0.5% of Kvs.
- Control capability: Kvs/Kvr >25.
Kvs and Stroke L3F
- DN65: Kvs 50 m³/h in mixing, 43 m³/h in diverting, stroke 10.5 mm.
- DN80: 80 / 69 m³/h, stroke 11 mm.
- DN100: 125 / 108 m³/h, stroke 13 mm.
- DN125: 215 / 185 m³/h, stroke 18 mm.
- DN150: 310 / 267 m³/h, stroke 21 mm.
In diverting operation, the pressure drop increases by 35% and the Kvs decreases by 14% compared to mixing operation. This should be considered in pump calculation and valve authority.
L3FA DN80–DN300
The L3FA version is designed for larger flow rates and marine applications with seawater, such as cooling of main and auxiliary engines. Available in PN10 for DN65–DN200 and PN6 for DN250–DN300, with a maximum temperature of 120°C. Compatible with Clorius electric actuators AVM234 or AVF234.
Port Operation
Port 1 or AB is the common port. With normal thermostat or actuator direction, port 2(A) closes with increasing temperature and port 3(B) opens. With reverse actuator direction, the operation is inverted.
Installation
The valve can be installed with a vertical or horizontal shaft. The actuator must be protected from moisture and unnecessary vibrations. For L3FA, a minimum free height of 400 mm is required for installation and operation of the AVM234.
