Tank eyewash stations
Tank-fed emergency eyewash stations are used where no permanent water supply is available or where a self-contained first-flush point is required close to the hazard source. Typical installations include laboratories, chemical storage areas, temporary work sites, loading stations, and industrial areas with potential eye exposure to dust, particulates, or chemical liquids.
This category includes B-Safety ClassicLine units BR 952 005, BR 955 005, BR 958 005, and BR 960 005. Models BR 952 005 and BR 955 005 are equipped with a 60 l tank and provide approximately 15 min of continuous flushing. Activation is by pull strip, and the low-pressure spray heads are arranged for simultaneous rinsing of both eyes. BR 952 005 uses chemically resistant GRP construction. BR 955 005 is supplied in a heated cabinet made of galvanized steel with insulation, self-regulating trace heating tape rated at 20 W/m, 230 V / 50 Hz power supply, and thermostat control that switches heating off at 14 °C and on at 4 °C.
Models BR 958 005 and BR 960 005 use a 16 l stainless steel tank, filled through a top cover and pressurized through a tyre-inflation type valve to 7 bar. Stated discharge is 7 l/min or 1.7 l/min, corresponding to an approximate flushing duration of 2 or 5 min respectively. These units are therefore intended primarily as an interim flushing measure until access to a plumbed emergency eyewash station is available. BR 960 005 is mounted on a hand trolley with solid rubber wheels for mobile deployment.
Maintenance should include inspection of tank cleanliness, flushing fluid service life, spray outlets, dust covers, EN ISO 7010 safety marking, filling pressure, and compliance with EN 15154-4:2009 and ANSI Z358.1-2014.
