MEI CS – Wafer Type Swing Check Valve

The MEI CS is a wafer swing check valve with a self-centering design for installation between flanges. The disc opens via differential flow pressure and closes when flow decreases or reverse pressure occurs. No actuator is required for operation.

Technical Specifications

  • Size Range: DN32–DN350
  • Connection: wafer / sandwich type
  • Flange compatibility: EN 1092-1 PN6, PN10, PN16, PN25 and ANSI 150 RF
  • Body materials: zinc plated carbon steel, AISI 316 stainless steel, aluminium bronze
  • Seat: metal-to-metal or soft sealing NBR, EPDM, PTFE, FKM
  • Special versions on request: ANSI 300 to ANSI 1500 RF/RTJ and PN40 to PN250

Operating Pressure

Standard pressure ratings: PN6: 6 kg/cm², PN10: 10 kg/cm², PN16: 16 kg/cm², PN25: 25 kg/cm², ANSI150: 20 kg/cm². Selection should be based on actual system pressure, temperature, body and seat material, not only flange rating.

Cracking Pressure & Installation

Minimum cracking pressure depends on installation orientation. For horizontal flow, DN32–DN150: approx. 13–23 mbar per opening angle; DN200–DN300: approx. 15–32 mbar. For vertical upward flow: 26 mbar and 35 mbar respectively. CS series can also be installed in vertical downward flow, with minimum cracking pressure around 10 mbar.

Applications

Suitable for auxiliary industrial networks, water, air, cooling circuits, chemically compatible fluids, and lines requiring short face-to-face dimensions. For corrosive or seawater service, verify compatibility of AISI 316 or aluminium bronze with process media.

FAQ

When is a soft seat selected?
When lower seat leakage is required compared to metal-to-metal sealing.

What should be checked before ordering?
DN, PN/Class, body material, seat material, installation orientation, flow rate, and available differential pressure.
