Fluitek Compact Design – Forged Check Valve

The Fluitek Compact Design is a forged check valve for small-bore, high-pressure lines where reduced face-to-face dimensions and non-actuated reverse flow prevention are required. Standard configuration is swing check; piston lift check variants are also available.

Construction

  • Sizes: 1/2" to 2"
  • Body: forged construction
  • Standard bonnet: bolted bonnet
  • Available options: pressure seal bonnet or seal welded bonnet
  • Dimensions: project-specific or custom-engineered

Pressure Classes & Materials

Primarily for high ANSI classes: Class 900, 1500, 2500, 4500. Materials: ASTM/ASME, EN harmonized, or special grades: carbon steel, LTCS, low alloy, austenitic stainless, duplex, nickel alloys.

Applications

Used in small-bore steam lines, boiler auxiliaries, drain/vent lines, hydrocarbons, process gases, condensate, and thermal fluids. Selection based on pressure-temperature rating, body/trim material, media, temperature, corrosion, and seat tightness requirements.

Selection Considerations

For small-diameter, high-pressure service, bonnet and connection type affect maintenance and fugitive emissions.
Bolted bonnet allows inspection access. Seal welded bonnet reduces external leak paths but limits field maintenance. Pressure seal is considered when internal pressure is critical for bonnet sealing.

Standards / Compliance

Available compliance: AD2000, ISO 9001:2015, PED 2014/68/EU, ATEX 2014/34/EU, IEC 61508 SIL, API 6A / ISO 10423, API 6D, API 6DSS, TR-CU.

FAQ

When is a compact forged check valve selected?
For small, high-pressure lines where cast valves are impractical due to size.

Is an actuator required?
No. Operation is by flow and reverse pressure closure.

Description

FLUITEK ORSENIGO VALVES has applied its extended experience in high pressure applications of check valves to a line of small size (1/2” to 2”) forged construction specially designed check valves. Most used configuration is swing type, but piston lift type is also available. Bonnet configuration is normally bolted type but pressure seal type is also available as well as seal welded bonnet.

Materials are either the traditional ASTM/ASME materials, harmonized EN materials or special non-harmonized materials (ranging as usual from carbon steel to low temperature carbon steel, low alloy steel, austenitic stainless steel, austenitic-ferritic duplex steel, nickel alloys). Pressure classes are normally on the high range side (900#, 1500#, 2500#, 4500#). Dimensions are per specific design, depending on customer specifications. Compliance with AD2000 requirements is available.
