Y-Type Strainer NORIS Bauform 140-A, ANSI 150 lbs

The NORIS 140-A is a flanged Y-type strainer designed for installation upstream of instrumentation, control valves, pumps, and equipment with restricted flow passages. Its primary function is to retain solid particles from the process line, thereby reducing wear on seats, impellers, and regulating components.

Construction and Materials

• Body: WN 1.4408 or GS-C25
• Cover: WN 1.4408 / 1.4571 or GS-C25 / H II
• Screen: WN 1.4571 / 1.4401
• Bolts: A4-70 or zinc-plated 5.6
• Cover sealing: graphite or alternative material upon request

Operating Conditions

Standard version features ANSI 150 lbs flanges, nominal pressure 19 bar, and maximum design temperature 300°C. Available sizes range from ½" to 10", with face-to-face dimensions per DIN F1.

Screen and Selection Criteria

Screen opening depends on nominal diameter, typically 0.6 mm to 1.5 mm. Selection should consider not only flange rating but also flow rate, differential pressure (clean/dirty screen), fluid viscosity, and available space for screen removal.

Applications
