Y-Type Strainer NORIS Bauform 140-A, ANSI 300 lbs

The NORIS 140-A 300 lbs is a flanged Y-type strainer designed for pipelines requiring solid particle retention upstream of instrumentation, control valves, pumps, and sensitive downstream equipment. Selection is based on piping classes with ANSI 300 lbs flanges, providing higher operating pressure than the 150 lbs version.

Materials and Sealing

Body available in WN 1.4408 or GS-C25. Cover in WN 1.4408/1.4571 or GS-C25. Strainer mesh in WN 1.4571 / 1.4401. Bolts are A4-70 or zinc-plated 5.6. Cover gasket is graphite or alternative material upon request.

Strainer Mesh and Selection

Mesh opening varies by diameter: 0.6 mm for small sizes, 0.8 mm for medium, 1.2 mm up to approx. 5", and 1.5 mm for larger sizes. Selection should consider flow rate, permissible pressure drop, particle load, and isolation capability for cleaning.

Variants

Options include double mesh (WN 1.4571), DIN flanged connection, drain plug, and heating jacket. The drain plug facilitates chamber emptying before cover removal; heating jacket is considered for viscous or temperature-sensitive media.
