Conical Blu Zac FCO Temporary Filters

Blu Zac FCO conical filters are designed for temporary installation during flushing, fine-tuning, and plant commissioning. Installed between two flanges, they retain coarse pipeline debris such as rust, scale, welding residues, and electrodes, preventing ingress into pumps, control valves, flowmeters, or heat exchangers.

Construction and Connections

The filter consists of a perforated plate formed into a cone and welded perpendicularly to a connection ring. Available for flanged connections per ANSI B16.5, with RF, FF, or RJ variants. For RJ connections, refer to ASME B16.20 for gasket selection.

Installation and Maintenance

Install the conical element between flanges with a new gasket and correct bolt torque. For cleaning, isolate and depressurize the line, disassemble the flange, remove and clean or replace the element. Always use a new gasket on reassembly.

FAQ

Is this a permanent line filter?
No. Intended primarily for temporary protection during commissioning or pipeline cleaning.

Can it be fitted with an actuator?
No. This is a passive filtration element.

What selection criteria apply?
NPS, flange class, RF/FF/RJ connection, mesh size, allowable Δp, flow direction, and expected commissioning debris load.

Description

Temporary filter, in-line, suitable for filtering fluids or gases, designed for brief periods of use, such as the fine-tuning and start-up of a plant. Installed to remove any coarse detritus such as rags, electrodes, deposits and rust left inside the pipes.

Comprising a rolled perforated sheet in the form of a cone welded perpendicularly to a ring joint, the conical filter is easy to install and replace because it is positioned between two flanges of a pipe.

Filter suitable for high pressures, easy to maintain and replace and capable of filtration of more than 200% of the inlet area.

OPEN AREA RATIO= 100 x Mesh Open Area x Screen Area / Inlet area (The calculations are based on the filtering percentage of the mesh’s surface area only.)
