Water and steam ejector 248: main features
Description:
Sizes: DN15 a DN125
Materials: CARBON STEEL WCB y STAINLESS STEEL CF3M
Connection: Flanges EN
The Valfonta 248 is a jet pump type ejector designed for pumping or mixing liquids, slurries, and solids using water or steam as the motive medium. Operation is based on a nozzle that generates a vacuum zone, drawing in the secondary medium and discharging the mixture. The unit contains no moving parts and does not require an actuator.
Selection is based on motive pressure, required suction, discharge head, mixture density, and solids content. For submerged installation, catalogue data indicates suction up to 2 m with cold water and, with 5 barg steam, discharge head up to 38 m. Non-submerged configurations allow suction lifts up to 6.5 m and discharge heads of 5–12 m, depending on steam pressure.
Suitable for chemical processing, pulp and paper, soap manufacturing, tanneries, breweries, sugar plants, dye works, mining, bilge pumping on ships, pump priming, water treatment, and dosing of solids such as cement or salts into solution.
Not intended as an isolation or control valve; no seat leakage class applies. Critical sealing points are flanged joints and gaskets, which must be selected according to temperature, pressure, and chemical compatibility.
Supplier documentation references PED 2014/68/EU, ATEX 2014/34/EU, and ISO 9001:2015 for the Valfonta product range. Scope and applicability should be confirmed during procurement.
