Electromagnetic Diaphragm Valve 2/2 AWS Type 221

The AWS Type 221 is a 2/2-way seat valve with diaphragm sealing, featuring forced pilot operation in an NC configuration. Unlike typical pilot-operated valves, the Type 221 is servo-controlled with positive lift and does not require differential pressure for opening or closing.

Electrical Specifications

Electrical connection is per DIN EN 175301-803 Form A. Available in 230 V AC 50/60 Hz, 24 V DC, and special voltages. Voltage tolerance is ±10% per VDE 0580, with a duty cycle of 100% ED. Consumption: 22 VA in AC and 13 W in DC.

Sealing and Leakage

NBR for up to +90 °C, EPDM for up to +130 °C, and FKM for up to +120 °C. The leakage class is A per EN 12266-1.

Applications

Suitable for clean water, neutral fluids, compressed air, and compatible gases without solids. Used in filling, draining, auxiliary process lines, and skids where zero minimum differential pressure is required but higher flow than direct-acting valves.

Limitations and Options

Flow direction must follow the arrow on the body, and the valve is not suitable for back pressure. Available options include NPT, plug with LED, oil-free/grease-free cleaning, silicone-free, LABS-free, fully encapsulated coils, and Ex coil II 2G Ex mb IIC T4 Gb / II 2D Ex mb tb IIIC T130°C Db.
