AWS – Technical profile of an industrial strainer, filter and pipeline protection equipment manufacturer

AWS is associated with industrial filtration and pipeline protection equipment used upstream of pumps, control valves, meters, heat exchangers and sensitive process equipment. The product range typically includes strainers, filters and accessories for protecting piping systems from solids, welding debris, rust and process contamination.

Temporary strainers are commonly used during commissioning to capture welding slag, pipe scale and construction debris. They should not remain permanently installed unless specifically designed for that duty.

  • body material,
  • screen material,
  • mesh or perforation,
  • open area ratio,
  • clean and dirty pressure drop,
  • drain / vent connection,
  • cleaning access,
  • compatibility with steam, water, oil, gas or chemical service.

For maintenance teams and process engineers, AWS-type strainer selection should be linked to the downstream equipment being protected and the expected contamination level during operation or commissioning.
