NORIS Model 880-A-K – ANSI Flow Indicator with Flap
The NORIS 880-A-K is a straight-through, double-sided flow indicator with ANSI 150 or 300 lbs flanges and an internal indication flap. It is used for visual monitoring of liquids and gases in horizontal or vertical pipelines when simple observation of the fluid does not provide sufficient visual contrast.
Operating Conditions
- Connection: ANSI 150 / 300 lbs flanges
- Operating Pressure: 16 bar for 150 lbs, 40 bar for 300 lbs
- Operating Temperature: 150 °C or 280 °C
- Sizes: 1/2" to 8"
- Installation: horizontal or vertical
- Vertical Installation: flow from bottom to top for consistent flow direction
Materials and Sealing
The body is available in GG25 / EN-GJL-250, GS-C25 / 1.0619 / GP240GH, or stainless steel 1.4408. The GG25 version is limited to a maximum pressure of 16 bar. Observation glasses are borosilicate according to DIN 7080 or soda-lime according to DIN 8902. Standard sealing is graphite, with other materials available after fluid and temperature assessment. The flap is made of 1.4571.
Applications
Suitable for process water, condensate, compatible chemical liquids, gases, and auxiliary lines where local flow confirmation is required. The flap aids in clear liquids, low visual contrast, or locations where the operator needs to quickly discern if flow is present.
Difference from NORIS 880-A
The 880-A-K is the version with a flap. The 880-A is a similar ANSI construction without a mandatory internal flap. Alternatively, an internal spinner can be requested, with available options including a heating jacket and observation light.
FAQ
Does it accept an actuator?
No. It is a passive flow indicator. The light is for observation, not position control or automation.
Is there a material certificate?
Optionally, a certificate according to EN 10204 type 2.2 or 3.1 is mentioned.
