Genebre 2259 Pressure Relief Valve

The Genebre 2259 is an angle-type pressure relief valve constructed from stainless steel, featuring a flanged inlet PN16/40 and a BSP threaded outlet. Designed for overpressure discharge in water, compressed air, and saturated steam systems, selection is based on required discharge flow and set pressure parameters.

Difference from Genebre 2258

The 2258 model is fully threaded. The 2259 is specified where a flanged inlet is required, such as on vessel nozzles, manifolds, or lines where mechanical stability and secure mounting are critical compared to threaded connections.

Applications

Typical uses include auxiliary water networks, compressed air systems, small saturated steam lines, stainless steel skids, and equipment protection where a flanged connection is specified. Flow curves are provided for water at 20°C with 25% overpressure and for air/saturated steam with 10% overpressure.

Selection and Maintenance

Sizing requires specification of medium, temperature, set pressure, discharge flow, backpressure, and DN. PTFE seat ensures tight shutoff but requires clean media; particulates, salts, or condensate may affect resealing after relief events. Periodic inspection is recommended for reliable operation.
