KITO E 17.1 N – Pressure/Vacuum Relief Valve for Non-Flammable Liquid Storage Tanks

The KITO VD/o-1-… is a terminal breather valve designed for storage tanks containing non-flammable liquids. Its primary function is to limit unacceptable overpressure or vacuum conditions and to reduce vapor losses or emissions during tank breathing cycles. This model is not explosion-proof and is not intended for applications involving continuous burning.

Difference from KITO E 17 N

The E 17.1 N variant is selected when higher pressure setpoints are required compared to the E 17 N. For lower pressure settings, refer to the KITO VD/o-… / E 17 N series. Higher setpoints may be available upon technical review.

Sizes and Setpoints

• DN 50, 80, 100, 125, 150: PN 16
• DN 200, 250: PN 10
• Alternative: ASME 2" to 10"
• Vacuum setting: 3–50 mbar
• Pressure setting:
  • >200 to 350 mbar for DN 50–100
  • >150 to 350 mbar for DN 125–150
  • >100 to 350 mbar for DN 200–250

Construction and Sealing

Standard body material is carbon steel, with optional stainless steel 1.4571. Seat and spindle are stainless steel 1.4571. Vacuum seal is NBR as standard, with Viton, PTFE, or EPDM available. Pressure seal is metallic.

Operation

The valve is self-actuated. The pallet is spring-loaded, with no electric or pneumatic actuator. Weather hood is stainless steel. Standard protective screen is PA6; from DN 80 upwards, stainless steel 1.4301 or optional 1.4571 is available.

Connections and Certification

Flanged connection per EN 1092-1 Type B1, with ASME B16.5 Class 150 RF as an option. This model is supplied without EC certificate and without CE marking.
