KITO E 17 N – Pressure/Vacuum Valve for Non-Flammable Liquids

The KITO VD/o-… is a terminal breather valve designed for storage tanks containing primarily non-flammable liquids. It is used to limit unacceptable overpressure or vacuum conditions and to reduce vapor losses or unwanted emissions. This valve is not explosion-proof and is not suitable for long-duration fire exposure.

• Optional: ASME B16.5 Class 150 RF

Operating Settings

Mechanical operation only; no electric or pneumatic actuator. The vacuum pallet is spring-loaded, while the pressure pallet is weight-loaded.

Typical setting ranges:

• Vacuum: 3–100 mbar for DN 50, 3–50 mbar for DN 80–250
• Pressure: approx. 10–100 mbar, depending on DN
• With body extension: up to 200 mbar for selected sizes

Materials and Sealing

Standard body: carbon steel, optional stainless steel 1.4571. Seat, shaft, and weights: stainless steel 1.4571. Standard seal: NBR; options: Viton, PTFE, EPDM, or metal-to-metal. For pressure settings ≥100 mbar, PTFE or metal sealing is used.

Flow Calculation

Flow curves are based on air at 1.29 kg/m³, 273 K, and atmospheric pressure. Stated flow rates are achieved with 40% accumulation above setpoint, per DIN 4119.

FAQ

Can it be used for flammable products?
No. For flammable vapors, use a model with certified flame arrester.

Does it have CE/EC marking?
No. The datasheet specifies that this type is supplied without EC certificate and without CE marking.
