Gefran TPS – Strain Gauge Pressure Sensor mV/V Output
The Gefran TPS is a pressure sensor without an integrated amplifier, providing a ratiometric mV/V output. It utilizes bonded strain gauge technology on a stainless steel measuring element. This sensor is specified for use where the controller, bridge amplifier, or test system accepts a direct strain gauge input and where fast dynamic response is required.
Technical Data
- Measuring ranges: 0…10 to 0…1000 bar
- Output: mV/V, ratiometric
- Accuracy: ±0.15% FS typical for >200 bar, ±0.25% FS typical for ≤200 bar
- Overpressure: 2x
- Burst pressure: 4x…2.5x
- Response time: <0.1 ms
- Process temperature: -40…+120 °C
- Temperature compensation: -20…+85 °C
- Body: AISI 304
- Wetted parts: 17-4PH stainless steel
- Protection: IP65 / IP66 / IP67, depending on connector
Process Connections
Standard connection is G 1/4 gas male. Other available options per variant include 7/16-20 UNF-2A SAE 4, 1/2A DIN 16288, and G 1/4 gas female. Selection should consider operating pressure, fitting compatibility, and mechanical loading at the measurement point.
Applications
The TPS is primarily used in test benches and materials testing machines, where response speed and direct bridge measurement are prioritized over standard 4…20 mA interfacing. Not suitable for direct connection to typical PLC analog inputs without a signal conditioner.
Installation
Shielded cable is required, with grounding via the machine body and separation of signal and power cables. For mV/V output, shield is left open at the connector side and connected to supply GND at the instrument/PLC side.
Compliance
TPS declaration of conformity includes CE marking, RoHS 2011/65/EU, and EN 50581:2012.
