Gefran TPH – Very High Pressure Sensor
The Gefran TPH is a pressure sensor designed for very high-pressure applications, featuring a non-amplified mV/V output. It utilizes bonded strain gauge technology on a steel measuring element with a monolithic diaphragm. This configuration is suitable for both static and dynamic pressure measurements in high-energy hydraulic circuits.
Technical Data
- Measuring ranges: 0…1000 to 0…5000 bar
- Accuracy: ±0.1% FS typical
- Overpressure: 2 x FS, up to 6000 bar
- Burst pressure: 3 x FS, up to 7500 bar
- Response time: <0.1 ms
- Process temperature: -30…+120 °C
- Temperature compensation: -10…+85 °C
- Body: AISI 304
- Wetted parts: 15-5PH / 17-4PH stainless steel
- Protection: IP65 / IP66 / IP67, depending on connector and installation
Output and Interface
The mV/V output requires a strain gauge bridge input or external signal conditioner. It is not directly compatible with standard PLC analog inputs (4…20 mA or 0…10 V). For amplified outputs, refer to the TPHADA series.
Process Connections
Available connections for TPH include F-250-C 9/16-18 UNF female and M16 x 1.5 female. Selection should be based on operating pressure, fitting class, tightening torque, and mechanical stress on the piping.
Applications
- Waterjet cutting
- High-pressure pumps
- Production test benches
- Hydraulic circuits up to 5000 bar
- Dynamic pressure measurements with rapid changes
Installation
Use shielded cable, ground via machine body, and separate signal cables from power cables. For mV/V output, connect shielding to GND at the PLC/instrument side only; leave floating at the connector side.
Compliance
TPH compliance declaration covers Pressure transducers TPH, marking CE, RoHS 2011/65/EU, and EN 50581:2012.
