KITO DS/oG Pressure Relief Valve, Type C 8.5 N

The KITO DS/oG C 8.5 N is an overpressure relief valve designed for vertical installation on tank roofs. It functions as a breather device, venting gases or vapors when internal pressure exceeds the setpoint, while minimizing product losses. This valve is not intended for explosion protection and does not provide safety against deflagration or stabilized burning.

Sizes and Connections

Available in DN 50 to DN 300. Flanges are PN 16 for DN 50–150 and PN 10 for DN 200–300. Standard connection is EN 1092-1 type B1, with optional ASME B16.5 Class 150 RF execution.

Set pressure range: 2–60 mbar.

Construction Materials

Standard configuration:

• Body: carbon steel, optionally stainless 1.4571
• Valve seat: stainless 1.4571
• Weather hood: stainless steel
• Protective mesh: stainless 1.4301

Valve Disc and Sealing Options

Internal configuration depends on set pressure:

• 2–<3.5 mbar: aluminum disc, FEP & HD3822 seal
• ≥3.5–14 mbar: stainless 1.4571 disc, FEP & HD3822 seal
• >14–35 mbar: stainless 1.4571 disc, PTFE seal
• >35–60 mbar: stainless 1.4571 disc, PTFE seal

Flow Calculation

Flow curves are based on air at 1.29 kg/m³, 273 K, atmospheric pressure. Stated flows are achieved with 20% accumulation above set pressure. For lower permissible overpressure, consult manufacturer for correction factors.
