KITO DS/oP Pressure Relief Valve, Type C 8.4 N

The KITO DS/oP C 8.4 N is a pressure relief valve designed for storage tanks and silos containing granular or powdered materials. The design positions all moving parts outside the storage area, minimizing direct mechanical contact with the stored product and reducing contamination risk.

Applications

Typical use cases as a breather/pressure relief device include:

• silos for granulates and powders,
• dry bulk material storage vessels,
• installations requiring overpressure relief without internal moving components,
• applications with low set pressures and vessel overpressure protection requirements.

This valve is not classified as an explosion protection device. The technical datasheet specifies no EC certificate and no CE marking.

Dimensions and Set Pressure Range

Available in DN 50 to DN 250. Flanges are PN 16 for DN 50–150 and PN 10 for DN 200–250. Optional connection per ASME B16.5 Class 150 RF is available.

Indicative set pressure limits:

• DN 50: 2.7–300 mbar
• DN 80: 2.1–150 mbar
• DN 100: 1.9–210 mbar
• DN 125: 2.1–150 mbar
• DN 150: 2.1–118 mbar
• DN 200: 2.1–90 mbar
• DN 250: 2.3–75 mbar

Materials and Sealing Options

Standard construction:

• body: stainless steel 1.4571,
• set weight: stainless steel 1.4571, optional PE,
• seal: NBR,
• alternative seals: Viton, PTFE, EPDM, or metal,
• for set pressures ≥100 mbar, only PTFE or metal sealing is used,
• weather hood: stainless steel.

Flow Calculation

Flow curves are based on air at a density of 1.29 kg/m³ at 273 K and atmospheric pressure. Stated flow rates are achieved with 40% accumulation above set pressure, per DIN 4119. For lower permissible overpressure, flow correction is required.
