Valfonta PRV20 Direct Acting Pressure Reducer

The Valfonta PRV20 is a self-operated pressure reducer with piston-driven compensation, designed for local downstream pressure regulation in small liquid and neutral gas networks. The valve closes when the outlet pressure exceeds the set point, mechanically adjusted via the spring preload screw. It requires no impulse line or external energy.

• Sizes: 1/4”, 3/8”, 1/2”, 3/4” / DN8–DN20.
• Connections: BSP or NPT, threaded.
• Nominal Pressure: PN40.
• Maximum Inlet Pressure: 40 barg.
• Regulation Ranges: 0.2–2 / 1–8 / 5–20 barg.
• Kv: 1.2 to 2.4 m³/h.
• Temperature: -20 to +80°C, with other executions available upon request.

Materials and Seals

The primary construction is stainless steel AISI 316L / 1.4404 for the body and internal parts. A bronze body is available upon request. Seals can be NBR, FKM, or EPDM, depending on the medium, temperature, and chemical compatibility.

Applications

Typical uses include chemical laboratory installations, small sanitary circuits, compressed air, sprinkler lines, neutral gases, and low to medium flow liquids. The small Kv makes it suitable for consumption points rather than large flow central lines.

Installation and Safety

Pipeline cleaning and a protective filter are required before the valve. Valves should be opened slowly to avoid hydraulic shock. The PRV20 is not a safety valve; independent protection is required when there is a risk of downstream overpressure.

Documentation includes PED 2014/68/EU, ATEX technical file, and ISO 9001. Supply requires p1, p2, flow rate, medium, temperature, connection, and sealing material.
