Berluto DRV 550 Low Output Pressure Reducer

The Berluto DRV 550 is a flanged direct-acting pressure reducer with diaphragm, adjustment spring, single seat with inlet pressure compensation, and cartridge-type internal components. It is designed for low downstream pressure of 0.2–2 bar, without external energy or pulse line.

Technical Specifications

  • DN15–DN80.
  • Flanges DIN EN 1092 PN25.
  • Optional ANSI B16.5 RF Class 150 or JIS B2220 16K.
  • Optional PN16 for DN65.
  • Maximum inlet pressure p1: 16 bar.
  • Outlet pressure p2: 0.2–2 bar.
  • Minimum differential pressure p1–p2: 1 bar.
  • Kvs: 2.9–18 m³/h, depending on DN.
  • Integrated filter.
  • Dual G 1/4” gauge connection for outlet pressure indication.

Materials and Temperatures

The body is made of red bronze CC499K. In the basic version, the cap is PA6 up to DN32 and cast iron from DN40. Wetted parts are Hostaform C and brass up to DN32, and brass from DN40. Seals are NBR up to 100°C, with EPDM options up to 130°C and FPM up to 190°C for specific sizes. The HT version uses FPM and metallic internal parts up to 190°C, but is not suitable for steam.

Media and Applications

Suitable for water and neutral, non-sticky liquids. Can also be used in air or neutral gases when higher flow rates are required. For potable or seawater, consider special DRV-6 or DRV-SW series.

Selection

The DRV 550 is selected when the required outlet pressure is below 2 bar, e.g., in industrial water, neutral process liquids, low-pressure equipment supply, and auxiliary networks. Sizing requires p1, p2, flow rate, DN, Kvs, temperature, medium, and sealing material. The technical datasheet mentions PED 2014/68/EU and classification body options DNV GL, ABS, LR, CCS, and BV.

Certificates

CE-certification according to the European Pressure Equipment Directive is mandatory for numerous products and delivery areas. Other certificates, however, are certificates of individual quality, such as DVGW and DIN EN ISO 9001, which stands for the internal quality management system  with its extensive functional and performance checks. The particularly strict regulations of the national rules and regulations guarantee the highest possible safety - especially when it comes to the reliability in your plant.
