The Berluto DRV 524 and DRV 525 are direct-acting, piston-operated pressure reducers with a regulating spring, single seat, and inlet pressure compensation. The design with replaceable internal parts allows maintenance without replacing the body.
The body is made of red bronze CC499K. In the basic version, wetted parts are Hostaform C and brass up to DN32, while from DN40 they are brass. Seals are NBR up to 100°C, with options for EPDM up to 130°C and FPM up to 190°C. The HT version uses FPM and metallic internal parts but is not intended for steam.
The series is applicable to water and neutral, non-sticky liquids. It can also be used in air or neutral gases when higher flow rates are required. For potable water or seawater, the manufacturer refers to the special DRV-6 and DRV-SW series.
The DRV 524 is selected for downstream pressure up to 12 bar. The DRV 525 is used when the set point is in the range of 2–20 bar. Selection should be based on p1, p2, flow rate, Kvs, medium, temperature, and sealing material, not just the DN of the piping.
The valve features an integrated filter and dual G 1/4” gauge connections for outlet pressure indication. Installation position can be any, with a preference for vertical orientation.

Pressure reducing valves of the series are piston-controlled, spring-loaded pressure reducing valves and have inlet pressure compensation. The cartridge design allows easy replacement of the internal parts.

CE-certification according to the European Pressure Equipment Directive is mandatory for numerous products and delivery areas. Other certificates, however, are certificates of individual quality, such as DVGW and DIN EN ISO 9001, which stands for the internal quality management system with its extensive functional and performance checks. The particularly strict regulations of the national rules and regulations guarantee the highest possible safety - especially when it comes to the reliability in your plant.
