Berluto DRV 424 / DRV 425 High Output Pressure Reducers

The Berluto DRV 424 / 425 are direct-acting, piston-operated pressure reducers with a regulating spring, single seat, and inlet pressure compensation. The cartridge design allows for replacement of internal components without replacing the body. They are intended for water and neutral, non-sticky fluids; they can also be used in air and neutral gases when higher flow rates are required.

Technical Data

  • DN15–DN65.
  • Connection: male thread R 1/2” to R 2 1/2” according to ISO 7.
  • Maximum inlet pressure up to 40 bar, depending on type and DN.
  • DRV 424: outlet pressure 1.5–12 bar.
  • DRV 425: outlet pressure 2–10 bar for DN15–DN32 and 2–20 bar for DN40–DN65.
  • Minimum differential pressure p1–p2: 1 bar.
  • Kvs: 2.9–17 m³/h.
  • Operating temperature: -30 to +190°C, depending on sealing and version.

Materials and Seals

The body is made of red brass CC499K. In the basic version, wetted parts are Hostaform C/POM and brass up to DN32, while from DN40 they are brass. Seals are NBR, with options for EPDM or FPM. The HT version uses FPM and metallic internal parts for temperatures up to 190°C, but is not suitable for steam.

Difference Between DRV 424 and DRV 425

The DRV 424 is selected for downstream pressure up to 12 bar. The DRV 425 is used when a higher set point is required, up to 20 bar for DN40–DN65. Selection should be based on p1, p2, flow rate, Kvs, medium, temperature, and elastomer, not just the DN of the piping.

Installation and Maintenance

The valve features an integrated filter, replaceable internal parts, and dual gauge connection G 1/4” for outlet pressure indication. Installation can be in any position, with a preference for vertical. The technical datasheet states compliance with DGRL/PED 2014/68/EU.

Certificates

CE-certification according to the European Pressure Equipment Directive is mandatory for numerous products and delivery areas. Other certificates, however, are certificates of individual quality, such as DVGW and DIN EN ISO 9001, which stands for the internal quality management system  with its extensive functional and performance checks. The particularly strict regulations of the national rules and regulations guarantee the highest possible safety - especially when it comes to the reliability in your plant.
