Pressure Reducers Red-Bronze - DRV 4-Series - DRV 402/403/408 | Berluto

Berluto DRV 402 / 403 / 408 Direct Acting Pressure Reducers

The Berluto DRV 402, DRV 403, and DRV 408 are diaphragm, spring, and inlet pressure compensated pressure reducers. The outlet pressure acts on the diaphragm, balancing with the spring setting, moving the internal cartridge without external energy or impulse line. This series is suitable for standard applications with male ISO 7 threads.

Technical Data

  • DN15–DN65.
  • Connection: R 1/2” to R 2 1/2”, male ISO 7 thread.
  • Maximum inlet pressure: up to 40 bar, depending on type and DN.
  • Outlet pressure: 1.5–6 bar for DRV 402/403, 1.5–10 bar for DRV 408.
  • Minimum differential pressure p1–p2: 1 bar.
  • Kvs: 2.9–17 m³/h.
  • Operating temperature: -30 to +190°C, depending on sealing and version.

Type Differences

DRV 402 covers DN15–DN65, with p1 up to 40 bar for DN15–DN32 and up to 25 bar for DN40–DN65. DRV 403 covers DN15–DN32, with p1 up to 16 bar and a plastic cap, thus temperature limited to 75°C. DRV 408 is selected when higher downstream regulation is required, up to 10 bar.

Materials and Seals

The body is made of red bronze CC499K. Wetted parts are Hostaform C/POM and brass up to DN32, while from DN40 they are brass. Seals are available in NBR, EPDM, or FPM. The HT version uses FPM and metallic internal parts for temperatures up to 190°C, but is not intended for steam.

Media and Applications

Suitable for water and neutral, non-sticky liquids. They can also be used in air and neutral gases when larger flow rates are required. For potable water, the special DRV-6 series should be considered.

Installation and Selection

The valve features an integrated filter, replaceable internal parts, and dual G 1/4” gauge connections for outlet pressure. Installation can be in any position, with a preference for vertical. Selection requires p1, p2, flow rate, DN, Kvs, medium, temperature, elastomer, and thread type.

Description

DRV 402 / 403 / 408

Pressure reducing valves of the series are diaphragm-controlled, spring-loaded pressure reducing valves and have inlet pressure compensation. The cartridge design allows easy replacement of the internal parts.

Nominal size DN 15 up to DN 65

Inlet pressure up to 40 bar

Outlet pressure from 1.5 up to 10 bar

Temperature range -30°C to 190°C

Certificates

CE-certification according to the European Pressure Equipment Directive is mandatory for numerous products and delivery areas. Other certificates, however, are certificates of individual quality, such as DVGW and DIN EN ISO 9001, which stands for the internal quality management system  with its extensive functional and performance checks. The particularly strict regulations of the national rules and regulations guarantee the highest possible safety - especially when it comes to the reliability in your plant.
