The Valvosider DIN Y-Type is a piston check valve with an angled flow path (Y-pattern). The Y-type geometry reduces flow direction changes inside the body compared to straight or lift check valves, minimizing pressure drop. This design is specified for non-return applications in industrial pipelines with DIN flanges. Operation is achieved via differential pressure and spring force; no actuator is required.
Full opening design with bolted bonnet, lapped disc/seat, and replaceable seat ring. Body materials: 1.0619 (carbon steel) and 1.4408 (stainless steel). Seat surfaces: X20Cr13 or X5CrNiMo17-12-2, with optional Stellite, Monel, Hastelloy, or other alloys for wear, corrosion, or special media.
Standard connection: flanged EN 1092. Optional: BW ends, RTJ flanges, ANSI connections. Gasket: stainless steel reinforced graphite; PTFE or other materials available. For reduced seat leakage, disc with PTFE or elastomer insert can be specified.
Design: EN 12516. Face-to-face: EN 558 / EN 1298L. Flanges/rating: EN 1092. BW ends: DIN 3239. Testing: EN 12267. Marking: EN 19. Certification: EN 10204 3.1 / 3.2. Compliance: CE / PED.
Suitable for steam, condensate, process water, thermal fluids, hydrocarbons, and compatible gases, provided pressure-temperature rating and material compatibility are confirmed.
When is Y-type preferred over straight pattern? When lower hydraulic resistance and easier bonnet access are required.
Is sizing necessary? Yes. Low flow rates can cause unstable piston movement and seat wear.
