The Valvosider ASME Y-Type is a piston check valve with an inclined Y-pattern body, bolted cover, and return spring. The Y-pattern geometry is specified for industrial lines requiring check function with a straighter flow path compared to conventional lift check valves. Operation is based on differential pressure; no actuator is required.
Available in ASTM A216 WCB, ASTM A352 LCB, ASTM A217 WC6 / C5 / C12, and stainless cast ASTM A351 CF8, CF8C, CF8M, CF3M. Seat/disc surfaces: F6A, F304, F321, F316, or F316L, depending on body material. Optional trims: Stellite, Monel, Hastelloy, or other alloys on request.
Standard connection is ASME flanged. Optional BW ends, RTJ flanges, and DIN connections available. Gasket is spiral wound stainless with graphite or RTJ. For stricter seat leakage requirements, PTFE or elastomeric seat options are offered.
Design per BS 1873 and ASME B16.34, face-to-face per ASME B16.10, flanges per ASME B16.5, welding ends per ASME B16.25. Testing per API 598, API 6D, EN 12266. Marking per MSS-SP 25. CE/PED compliance. Certification: EN 10204 3.1 / 3.2.
Suitable for steam, condensate, process water, thermal oils, hydrocarbons, and compatible gases. Material selection based on pressure, temperature, and corrosion. For low flow rates, sizing review is required to ensure stable piston lift and avoid seat wear or chatter.
When is Y-Type selected? For ASME lines requiring check function with inclined body and top cover access.
Is an actuator required? No. The valve operates automatically via flow and spring force.
