The Valvosider ASME piston check valve is a straight-through, spring-loaded, bolted bonnet valve designed to prevent reverse flow in ASME piping systems. Operation is based on differential pressure and available flow; no actuator or external control signal is required. The valve closes automatically when flow ceases or reverses.
Bodies and bonnets available in ASTM A216 WCB, ASTM A352 LCB, ASTM A217 WC6/C5/C12, and stainless castings ASTM A351 CF8, CF8C, CF8M, CF3M. Seat faces: F6A, F304, F321, F316, or F316L, depending on body material. Stellite, Monel, or Hastelloy overlays available for severe corrosion or wear.
Standard design uses metal seat and spiral wound gasket (stainless/graphite). Optional: PTFE or elastomer disc, integral seat, drain plug, bypass. Soft seat selection is recommended for stricter seat leakage requirements, with attention to temperature and media compatibility.
Design: BS 1873, ASME B16.34. Face-to-face: ASME B16.10. Flanges: ASME B16.5. BW ends: ASME B16.25. Testing: API 598, API 6D, EN 12266. Marking: MSS-SP 25. Compliance: CE/PED. Certification: EN 10204 3.1/3.2.
Suitable for steam, condensate, process water, thermal fluids, hydrocarbons, and compatible gases, depending on body material, temperature, and pressure rating. Sizing review is required for low-flow conditions, as insufficient differential pressure may cause unstable piston operation.
When to select Class 900 or 1500? When the ASME pressure-temperature rating of lower classes does not meet design conditions.
Is an actuator available? No, operation is by flow and spring force only.
