The Genebre 2850 is a mechanical paddle-type flow switch designed for monitoring low or zero flow in non-corrosive liquids such as water and oil. It is typically used for process protection, interlock, or signaling in heating, cooling, and industrial circulation systems.
Flow displaces the paddle, actuating a microswitch. Setpoint is mechanically adjusted via a spring screw. Activation and reset points vary with paddle length and pipe diameter. For 1” pipe, activation range is 1.1–2.0 m³/h; for 8” pipe, 47–94 m³/h.
Documentation specifies installation on horizontal return lines. Avoid upstream flow disturbances from pumps, elbows, valves, or fittings. Recommended straight pipe length is at least 5x pipe diameter upstream.
Brown wire: common (COM). Blue: normally open (N.O.). Black: normally closed (N.C.). Yellow-green: earth/ground.
Is it suitable for gases?
The 2850 is specified for liquid flow detection only.
Can it measure flow rate?
No. It provides a discrete flow/no-flow contact, not an analog measurement signal.
When is the 2850 preferred?
When mechanical flow monitoring is required for non-corrosive liquids, with 1” body and paddle adaptation for pipes up to 8”.
