Genebre 2848 Liquid Flow Switch

The Genebre 2848 is a mechanical paddle-type flow switch designed for monitoring reduction or absence of flow in non-corrosive liquids, such as water and oil. It is typically used for process protection or interlock functions in heating, cooling, and industrial liquid circulation systems.

Operation and Adjustment

Flow actuates the stainless steel paddle, triggering the electrical contact. Adjustment is via a spring screw, with actuation and reset points depending on pipe diameter and paddle length. For 1” pipe, actuation range is 1.1–2.0 m³/h; for 8” pipe, 47–94 m³/h.

Installation

Recommended installation is on a horizontal return line. Avoid locations with high turbulence, such as near bends, pumps, or valves. Minimum straight pipe length before and after the switch should be 5 times the pipe diameter.

Electrical Contacts

Wiring: brown = common (COM), blue = N.O. contact, black = N.C. contact, yellow-green = earth.

FAQ

Is it suitable for corrosive liquids?
No. The datasheet specifies use with non-corrosive liquids only.

No. It is a flow limit switch, not an analog flowmeter.

The base switch is 1”, with different paddles for 1” to 8” pipes.
