Fival T01 – Borosilicate Transparent Glass for Level Gauges
The Fival T01 is a borosilicate transparent glass spare part for visual level gauges. It is not a complete gauge assembly; it is the glass element installed in transparent level gauges for direct observation of the liquid column. The T01 is intended for replacement in existing gauge bodies and is compatible with standard transparent gauge designs.
Operational Use
Unlike reflex glass, transparent glass allows direct viewing through the gauge chamber. It is selected when, in addition to level indication, process monitoring requires assessment of:
- liquid color or turbidity
- foaming
- presence of contaminants or suspended solids
- phase separation
- condition of condensate or boiler water
Dimensions
T01 is available in two main types:
- Type A: width 30 mm, thickness 17 mm
- Type B: width 34 mm, thickness 17 mm
- Lengths from 115 to 340 mm, sizes 11 to 19
Selection depends on the gauge body, glass seat, visible length, gasket configuration, and operating pressure class.
Operating Conditions
Technical documentation specifies maximum pressure resistance of 200 bar and maximum temperature of 300°C. Typical media include saturated steam, hot water, industrial liquids, and aggressive fluids. For chemically or thermally demanding applications, compatibility of glass, gaskets, and protective sheets must be verified.
Reference Standards
Relevant standards: DIN 7081, TGL 7210, BS 3463. Thermal expansion per DIN 52328, thermal shock resistance per DIN ISO 718, hydrolytic resistance per DIN ISO 719 / ISO 1776, alkali resistance per DIN ISO 695.
Maintenance and Replacement
During replacement, check seat flatness, surface cleanliness, gasket condition, and uniform bolt tightening. For high temperature or aggressive media, use a MICA sheet between glass and process fluid as recommended in technical drawings.
