Level Gauges
Gauge glasses and level indicators are used for direct visual verification of level in steam boilers, pressure vessels, process tanks, and auxiliary water or condensate circuits. Type selection is based on operating pressure, temperature, process medium, installation geometry, visibility requirements, and the ability to isolate the indicator for maintenance.
Reflex gauges with ribbed glass are used where clear liquid–steam interface indication is required through differential light reflection. Transparent gauges are selected when full visual observation of the fluid is necessary, including inspection of color, foaming, turbidity, or suspended solids. The range includes Fival reflex and transparent designs, with flat or tubular glasses, as well as welded constructions for boiler house service and industrial tank applications.
For higher-pressure service, Fival gauge cocks type NX PN40 and NY PN100 are used to provide isolation, draining, and replacement of glass or gaskets without intervention on the main vessel. Available standards include DIN and ANSI, with flanged connection options, pressure classes PN 40 and Class 300, and stainless steel materials where compatibility with corrosive or treated water must be considered.
Fival magnetic level indicators and ADCA MLI units are applied where the indication system must remain mechanically isolated from the process fluid, reducing operator exposure to hot or pressurized media. For maintenance, spare borosilicate glasses to DIN 7081, cover gaskets, seals, and cock rings are used, as these components are critical for tight shut-off, visibility, and periodic inspection.
