Fival RJF – Welded Reflex Level Gauge

Fival RJF is a welded reflex level gauge with prismatic Reflex borosilicate glass, designed for direct local level indication on vessel, boiler, or tank walls. It does not use an external column with isolating valves but is mechanically integrated into the equipment shell. The technical drawing refers to it as REFLEX welded level gauge PN64, Fig. PP / PR.

Indication Principle

Reflex glass differentiates liquid and vapor phases by light refraction through prismatic grooves. This solution is applied where simple visual level indication is required without electrical supply or transmitters.

Construction

  • Type: RJF
  • Welded construction for wall mounting
  • Body class: PN64
  • Glass: borosilicate Reflex
  • Configuration: Fig. PP / Fig. PR
  • Reference dimensions: D = 80 mm, H = 75 mm or H = 117 mm
  • Glass type B, width 34 mm, with reference PN100 or PN120 depending on execution
  • Radial welded parts available on request

Materials

Design specifies B7 studs, 2H nuts/rings or galvanized steel, carbon steel cover, asbestos-free upper gasket, graphite lower gasket, borosilicate glass, and body in carbon or stainless steel per configuration. Stainless steel cover and bolting available on request.

RJF vs. TJF

RJF uses Reflex glass for clear level indication. TJF is a transparent type, selected when direct observation of the process fluid (color, foaming, impurities) is required.

Selection Data

Specify installation location, visible length, pressure, temperature, process medium, and wetted materials. Welding must comply with pressure equipment standards and vessel design documentation.

Maintenance

Inspection includes glass condition, gasket leakage, bolting torque, cover corrosion, and weld examination after thermal cycles or shutdowns.
