Cla-Val Series 413-01 Valve is used to control above ground and underground storage tanks. This valve is available in a variety of configurations, sizes and materials.
Cla-Val 413-01 High Liquid Level / Fuel Discharge Valve
The Cla-Val 413-01 is a hydraulically operated, pilot-controlled diaphragm valve designed for aviation fuel systems. In standard configuration, it is installed downstream of a fuel/water filter-separator and isolates fuel flow when a float-operated switch detects excessive water accumulation in the sump.
Control Operation
The valve interfaces with a float-operated pilot. When water level rises, the pilot applies pressure to the auxiliary Hytrol valve chamber. Line pressure is then directed to the main valve chamber, causing the valve to close tightly. When pilot pressure is vented, the main diaphragm is relieved and the valve opens for full flow. The construction is fail-safe: in the event of diaphragm failure, the valve closes. Minimum required operating pressure is 4.54 psi (approx. 15 ft fuel column).

FAQ
What triggers valve closure?
Change in water/fuel interface level in the separator, detected by float control.
What components are included in the assembly?
Main Hytrol valve, ejector X47A or X50, auxiliary Hytrol valve, and X101 position indicator as standard.
