ADCA SH25 Steam Moisture Separator

The ADCA SH25/S is a horizontal centrifugal moisture separator constructed from carbon steel, designed for steam, compressed air, and other industrial gases. The process flow passes straight through the body, where centrifugal forces, impact, and turbulence separate water or oil droplets, entrained moisture, particulates, and salts. Condensate collects in the lower chamber and must be discharged automatically using a suitable steam or air trap.

Technical Specifications

  • Sizes: 1/2” to 6”, DN 15 to DN 150
  • Connections: EN 1092-1 PN16 or PN40 flanges
  • ASME options: B16.5 Class 150 or Class 300
  • Body material: P235GH / 1.0325
  • End caps: P265GH / 1.0425
  • EN flanges: P250GH / 1.0460
  • ASME flanges: ASTM A105 / 1.0432
  • Internal parts: S235JR / 1.0038
  • Minimum operating temperature: -10 °C
  • Optional flanged drain connection
  • No moving parts, no actuator required

Operating Limits

For PN16 / Class 150: body rated to 16 bar at 50 °C, 14 bar at 100 °C, with maximum saturated steam pressure 13 bar at 195 °C. For PN40 / Class 300: 40 bar at 50 °C, 37 bar at 100 °C, 27 bar at 300 °C, with PMO 31 bar at 239 °C.

Installation

Install the SH25 horizontally, with the condensate outlet facing downward. For steam lines, route the drain to a steam trap station with isolation valves, Y-strainer, sight glass if required, and a check valve on the outlet.

Typical Applications

  • Upstream of pressure reducing valves and steam control valves
  • Upstream of heat exchangers, heating coils, and steam-driven equipment
  • On main compressed air lines with moisture or oil contamination
  • For protection of instrumentation, steam traps, and downstream equipment

Compliance

Design and rating per EN 1092-1:2018; construction in accordance with AD-Merkblatt. For PED Group 2 fluids, category ranges from SEP to Category 3 depending on DN and PN.
