ADCA SF251/S Steam Line Moisture Separator with Integrated Filter

The ADCA SF251/S is a centrifugal moisture separator constructed from carbon steel, designed for installation in steam, compressed air, and other gas pipelines. The device induces a swirling flow and impingement, facilitating the removal of water or oil droplets, entrained moisture, particulates, and salts from the process stream. Collected condensate accumulates at the bottom and requires automatic drainage via a suitable steam or air trap.

Operating Limits

For PN16 / Class 150: body limits are 16 bar at 50 °C, 14 bar at 100 °C, and 12 bar at 250 °C. For saturated steam, PMO is 13 bar at 195 °C.
For PN40 / Class 300: body limits are 40 bar at 50 °C, 37 bar at 100 °C, and 27 bar at 300 °C, with PMO 31 bar at 239 °C.

Comparison with Standard Separators

The SF251/S incorporates a stainless steel mesh, functioning both as a moisture separator and as a particulate retention point. This configuration is recommended for lines conveying oxides, salts, welding residues, or solids that may impact steam traps, control valves, or instrumentation.

Installation and Maintenance

Drainage connection must always be oriented downward. Lower connection options: threaded ISO 7 Rp (EN versions) or NPT (ASME versions); flanged drain available. Upper connection can be used for venting or balance pipe.

Steam applications require a trap station with isolation valves, strainer, visual inspection (where needed), and a check valve at the outlet.

Compliance

Pressure rating per EN 1092-1:2018; design in accordance with AD-Merkblatt. For PED Group 2 fluids, classification ranges from SEP to Category 3, depending on DN and PN.
