ADCA S25S PN16/PN40 Centrifugal Moisture Separator

The ADCA S25S is a carbon steel moisture separator designed for steam, compressed air, and other gas pipelines. Moisture removal is achieved via centrifugal action, impact, and vortex separation, allowing water or oil droplets, entrained moisture, particulates, and salts to be separated from the main flow. Condensate collects in the lower chamber and must be discharged automatically using a suitable steam trap or air/gas trap.

Operating Limits

PN16 version: Body rated to 16 bar at 50 °C, 14 bar at 100 °C, 12 bar at 250 °C. For saturated steam, max operating pressure is 13 bar at 195 °C.
PN40 version: Body rated to 40 bar at 50 °C, 37 bar at 100 °C, 27 bar at 300 °C. For saturated steam, max operating pressure is 31 bar at 239 °C.

PN16 vs PN40 Selection

PN16 is typically used for low/medium pressure steam distribution and compressed air lines. PN40 is selected when higher operating pressure, temperature, or flange class is required. Selection should consider pressure, temperature, flow, condensate backpressure, and piping material compatibility.

Installation and Maintenance

Condensate outlet must always be oriented downward. Drainage connects to a steam trap station with strainer, isolation valves, sight glass if required, and check valve. The upper connection can be used for venting or sensing lines. Line cleaning before commissioning and leak testing after restart are recommended.

Compliance

Pressure rating per EN 1092-1:2018; design per AD-Merkblatt. For PED 2014/68/EU Group 2 fluids, CE marking depends on DN and PN.
