Adler FJ2 Flanged Ball Valve with Heating Jacket

The Adler FJ2 is a flanged, split-body, full-bore ball valve equipped with a heating jacket. Based on the FM2 series, it conforms to face-to-face dimensions per UNI EN 558-1. The valve is specified for heated lines where product solidification or viscosity increase in the ball cavity or seats must be prevented.

Technical Data

  • Pressure rating: PN10–PN40
  • Sizes: DN15–DN300
  • Flanges: EN 1092-1 or ANSI B16.5
  • Body/ends materials: ASTM A105, ASTM A479 304/304L, ASTM A479 316/316L, ASTM A351 CF8M
  • Seats: PTFE + 15% fiberglass
  • Stem sealing: PTFE / graphite chevron rings
  • O-ring: FKM / Viton
  • Top flange: ISO 5211
  • Max jacket pressure: 10 bar

Operational Use

The heating jacket enables circulation of a thermal medium around the valve body. FJ2 selection is considered for resins, waxes, oils, bitumen, polymers, and chemicals prone to crystallization or viscosity increase. Product temperature, jacket pressure, residence time, and pipeline insulation must be evaluated during specification.

Standards and Options

Manufacture complies with BS EN 12516-2, ISO 14313, and UNI EN 558-1. Documentation available for PED 2014/68/EU, ATEX 2014/34/EU, fire-safe BS6755/API 607, ISO 10497, ISO 15848, antistatic design, and SIL 3 capable for automated valves.

Automation and Maintenance

The ISO 5211 interface supports pneumatic or electric actuators, manual gearboxes, and positioners. For DN200–DN300, manual gearbox operation is recommended. All valves are 100% air-tested underwater at 100 psi.

FAQ

When is FJ2 selected over wafer series FX/FY?
When a flanged split-body valve per UNI EN 558-1 is required, not a compact wafer installation.

What information is required for specification?
DN, PN/Class, body material, product temperature, heating medium, jacket pressure, seat material, and any ATEX, fire-safe, or ISO 15848 requirements.
