Globe valve with graphite packing for water, hot water, non-aggressive liquids and steam.
COREX V30.1 Steam Valve with Packing
The COREX V30.1 is a stop/globe valve featuring graphite packing, designed for flow isolation in water, steam, air, oil, and industrial fluid networks. Fluids should be free of coarse mechanical impurities, as particles can cause seat leakage or disc wear.
Versions and Materials
- Cast Iron Version PN16: DN15–DN200, flanged, GG25 / EN-GJL-250 or GGG40.3, temperature range 0–300°C.
- Steel/Stainless Steel Version PN16–40: DN15–DN400, flanged or butt weld, for -20 to 530°C depending on material.
- Body Materials: 1.0460 / 1.0619, 1.7357, ASTM A351 CF8, ASTM A351 CF8M.
- Stem Sealing: graphite or graphite/PTFE, depending on version and temperature.
Standards
Design based on EN 13709 and EN 12516. Flanges comply with EN 1092-1, welded ends with EN 12627, and pressure tests with EN 12266-1.
Typical Applications
Used in:
- steam and condensate lines,
- hot water circuits,
- industrial air,
- oils and non-corrosive fluids,
- steel versions for petroleum or more corrosive fluids, subject to material compatibility checks.
Valve Selection
Selection is based on DN, PN, temperature, medium, connection type, and body material. For temperatures above 300°C or PN higher than PN16, the steel series is preferred over cast iron. For automation, options include handwheel or electric actuator in suitable versions.
FAQ
Is it a control valve?
Primarily an isolating globe valve. Limited throttling is possible only when pressure drop, velocity, and seat wear conditions are acceptable.
What requires maintenance?
Key inspection points include packing, seat tightness, and fluid cleanliness before the valve.
