Gate Valves with Elastic Sealing Comeval UNIWAT 504/505/507

The UNIWAT 504/507 are flanged gate valves designed for flow isolation in water networks, irrigation, and neutral liquids group 2. They are not intended for flow regulation or operation in intermediate positions, as this increases wear on the elastic gate.

Technical Specifications

  • Body and Bonnet: Ductile Iron EN-JS1050 / GGG50
  • Gate: GGG50 with NBR or EPDM coating
  • Stem: Stainless Steel X20Cr13
  • Pressure: PN10, PN16, PN25 depending on DN and type
  • Operating Temperature: -10 to 80 °C for standard versions
  • Seat Tightness: EN 12266-1, Rate A, bidirectional operation
  • Internal/External Epoxy Coating, minimum average thickness 250 μm

Type Differences

UNIWAT 504: Non-rising stem, non-rising handwheel, suitable for chambers, underground networks, and locations with limited installation height.
UNIWAT 507: Rising stem with external screw and yoke, useful when visual position indication of the valve is required.

Connections and Standards

Standard versions are available with flanges EN 1092-2 type 21/B and lengths EN 558 S14 / DIN 3202 F4, EN 558 S15 / DIN 3202 F5, or EN 558 S3 / BS5163. Design refers to EN 12516, marking EN 19, and pressure tests EN 12266-1.

Actuation Options

Operable with handwheel, square key, gearbox, electric actuator, stem extensions, and limit switches. Actuators require torque, operating time, support, and limit switch checks.

Installation and Maintenance

Installation with the stem upwards is preferred, especially from DN200 and above. Alignment of flanges, avoidance of bending/torsion loads, and line flushing before startup are required. An upstream filter is recommended to protect the seat from particles.

FAQ

Is it used for throttling flow?
No. The use is on/off.

What is checked for stem leakage?
In 504, O-rings are checked. In 507, the gland is also checked and adjusted.

Are there potable water certifications?
WRAS is mentioned for UNIWAT 504 and ACS for UNIWAT 504/507 DN40–DN800.
