Brandoni 20E.900 Soft Seated Gate Valve

The Brandoni 20E.900 is a flanged gate valve with a flat body and reduced face-to-face dimensions, designed for isolation in HVAC, water distribution, water treatment, and irrigation networks. It is not suitable for steam, throttling, oils, or hydrocarbons.

Construction and Materials

  • Body/Bonnet: Ductile Iron EN GJS500-7
  • Gate: Ductile Iron fully coated with EPDM
  • Stem: Stainless Steel X20Cr13 / AISI 420
  • O-rings: NBR
  • Internal and external epoxy coating, minimum thickness 250 μm
  • Full bore with stagnant water prevention in the gate

Standards and Connections

The 20E.900 series is manufactured according to EN 1171, EN 12516, and EN 12570. Face-to-face dimensions comply with EN 558 / ISO 5752, flanges with EN 1092 / ISO 7005, and marking with EN 19. Tightness tests are 100% per EN 12266 Cat. A / ISO 5208 Cat. A. The series is PED 2014/68/EU compliant.

Pressure, Temperature, and Dimensions

For DN40–DN300, the maximum pressure for water and non-hazardous fluids between flanges is 16 bar. EPDM temperature range is 0 to 80 °C continuous, with peaks up to 85 °C. Flanges are available in PN10/PN16 per diameter.

For DN350–DN1000, separate versions exist. In non-hazardous fluids, allowable pressure decreases with diameter, while for water applications, 16 bar is noted. Larger diameters include bare shaft or gearbox versions with ISO 5210 connection for actuation.

Installation and Maintenance

The valve should be installed fully open or closed, with clean piping and no misalignment loads from flanges. Bolts should not be used to draw piping together. For DN>200, a dismantling joint is recommended. In frost-prone areas, stagnant water drainage is required.

FAQ

Is it used for flow regulation?
No. It is an on/off isolation valve.

Is it suitable for steam?
No. Documentation excludes it from steam service.

When to choose 20E.900 over 21.900?
When reduced installation length, flat body, and face-to-face EN 558 Series 14 are required.

The valves in series 20E900 are soft seated gate valves, made of ductile iron, manufactured in accordance with severe product norms and relevant norms, and in conformity to EN ISO 9001; they are available with reduced Face to Face dimension (flat body).

These valves are suitable for heating and conditioning (HVAC), water treatment and water distribution, agricultural purposes.
