ARI-ASTRA®Plus 042 Flow Control Valve
Manual straight-through valve, flanged, designed for flow regulation and presetting in industrial water, steam, condensate, thermal circuits, and HVAC networks. The body is made of ductile iron EN-JS1049 / EN-GJS-400-18U-LT, rated at PN16, with length according to DIN EN 558 series 1 and flanges according to DIN EN 1092-2.
Operating Areas
- DN15–200: bellows stem sealing, metal seat, Kvs 5.04–570 m³/h.
- DN250–400: pure graphite packing, Kvs 812–2383 m³/h.
- Temperature: DN15–150 up to +175°C with digital display or up to +350°C with travel indicator. DN200–400 up to +350°C.
- ΔP Limitation in Throttling: up to 16 bar for smaller diameters, reducing to 9 / 6 / 4.5 / 3.5 bar for DN250–400.
Selection and Use
Selection is based on flow rate, allowable pressure drop, temperature, medium, and required control position. The valve features a non-rising handwheel, travel limiter, and position indicator. It is not an on/off isolation valve; intended for hydraulic balancing and controlled throttling.
Sealing and Maintenance
The DN15–200 version with bellows minimizes stem leakage in steam or hot fluid applications. Larger diameters use graphite packing, requiring periodic sealing checks. Gaskets are made from pure graphite or aramide fibre, depending on the version.
Standards and Accessories
Relevant documentation: PED 2014/68/EU, AD2000-A4, TRD 108, TRB 801, and TA-Luft TÜV for the bellows version. Available pressure taps G1/4", ARImetec®-DX sensor, and terminal/application for flow and differential pressure measurement.
FAQ
Can it be used in steam? Yes, provided temperature, pressure, and materials are confirmed against actual conditions.
Is there an electric or pneumatic actuator? The ASTRA®Plus is manually operated with a handwheel.
