KITO G 14.1 N – End-of-Line Liquid Seal Flame Arrester

KITO® FL/INO-…-IIB3 is a unidirectional end-of-line flame arrester designed for installation at the end of filling lines inside storage tanks containing flammable liquids. Its function is to prevent the propagation of stable explosions from the piping into the tank interior.

Application Limits

  • Explosion groups: IIA1 to IIB3
  • MESG: ≥ 0.65 mm
  • Max. operating temperature: 60 °C
  • Approval: detonation flame arrester type 4
  • Installation position: vertical
  • Connection piping: DN equal to or less than flange DN

The body must remain permanently filled with the stored liquid. The hexagonal plug allows draining for maintenance or line isolation.

Dimensions and Connections

Available sizes: DN 25 to DN 250. DN 25–40: PN 40; DN 50–150: PN 16; DN 200–250: PN 10. Standard connection: EN 1092-1 Form A flange, optional ASME B16.5 Class 150 RF.

Selection Criteria

Selection should be based on DN, explosion group, filling flow rate, pressure drop, liquid density, and material compatibility. Flow/Δp curves are determined with water per DIN EN 60534 at 15 °C and 1013 mbar; correction for other liquids is required based on density.

FAQ

Does it cover group IIC?
No. Approval is limited to IIB3.

Can it be installed horizontally?
No. Approved installation is vertical only.

Description

KITO® FL/INO-…-IIB3

  • As end-of-line armature, detonation-proof and flameproof, used for mounting on the pipes end of filling pipes inside of tanks, in which inflammable liquids of the explosion groups IIA1 to IIB3 are stored, with a nominal gap width (MESG) of ≥ 0.65 mm and an maximum operating temperature of 60 °C.
  • Tested and approved as detonation flame arrester type 4.
  • Particularly suitable for horizontal and underground vessels.
  • Mounting position is perpendicular.
  • It is only allowed to install pipes of nominal widths ≤ than the nominal widths of the flange.
  • The body of the housing has to be permanently filled with storage liquid.
  • Equipped with a hexagon head pipe plug for emptying the liquid.
