Spherical Bottom Tank Valve 4G Ghidini 163001

Two-way full bore ball valve designed for bottom tank installation. Tank connection is fixed flange per UNI EN 1092; outlet is internal thread ISO 228. Construction material is AISI 316L / 1.4404 with polished external finish. Available in DN40 to DN125 sizes.

Integral Seals and Application Selection

Model 163001 differs from standard seal versions by including PTFE sealing at the ball, sleeve, stem, and flange. Stem and counterflange O-rings are FKM as standard, EPDM available on request. FKM or EPDM selection should be based on process media, CIP fluid, temperature, and elastomer compatibility.

Typical Applications

Suitable for discharge, isolation, and transfer from process water, food, beverage, cosmetic, and compatible chemical tanks. ISO 228 threaded outlet is used where threaded piping is present and frequent clamp or DIN 11851 disconnection is not required.

Heated Jacket Version

Variant 163001E includes a heating jacket, retaining the same connection geometry. Used for products with increased viscosity or solidification risk at the discharge zone, such as fats, syrups, resins, or temperature-sensitive process media.

FAQ

Is it suitable for flow regulation?
Primarily intended for isolation or discharge. As a full bore ball valve, it is not selected for continuous throttling service.

Can it be fitted with a pneumatic actuator?
Yes. ISO 5211 / DIN 3337 flange allows mounting of pneumatic or electric actuators; actuator mounting bolts are included as standard.
