Bellino 3-Way – Three-Way Control Valve
The Bellino 3-Way is a three-way control valve designed for automatic flow distribution control in industrial liquid, gas, or steam circuits. It serves as a final control element in temperature, pressure, or flow loops, where the process requires mixing two streams or distributing a single flow into two branches.
Flow Configurations
The series can be utilized in two primary configurations:
- Converging / Mixer: two inlets, one outlet.
- Diverting: one inlet, two outlets.
The choice between mixing or diverting must be specified in the datasheet, as it affects the trim, flow direction, actuator thrust, and leakage in closed paths.
Materials and Construction
Bellino three-way valves are available with materials similar to the straight control valves of the Bellino series. In chemical, steam, oil, or industrial liquid applications, body and trim selection should be based on temperature, corrosion, erosion, differential pressure, and media compatibility.
Standards and Leakage
The manufacturer specifies valve design according to ASME B16.34, API 6A, API 600, and ASME BPVC, where applicable. Seat leakage is determined per ANSI/FCI 70-2, with available classes IV, V, and VI. Classes IV/V correspond to metal-to-metal seating, while Class VI requires a resilient seat.
Actuators and Instruments
The valve can be paired with pneumatic actuators, positioners, I/P converters, filter regulators, solenoid valves, limit switches, and boosters. The fail-safe position should be defined according to the installation's operation: fail-mix, fail-divert, or fail-close in a specific path.
