KITO B5.8N – Vent Cap with Flame Arrestor

The KITO® BEH/M-IIA-…-A / BEH/M-IIA-…-K is a terminal tank vent assembly incorporating integrated flame arrestor elements for deflagration and endurance burning scenarios. Designed for installation on storage tanks containing flammable liquids, it enables unrestricted venting while preventing flame propagation into the tank. Certified for explosion group IIA, with MESG > 0.9 mm, and a maximum operating temperature of 60 °C.

  • Locations requiring high flow rates at low pressure drop

This device does not function as a pressure/vacuum relief valve. Tank pressure and vacuum must be managed by a separate P/V device as determined by tank breathing calculations.

Dimensions and Flame Arrestor Configuration

B5.8N is available for DN 80, DN 100, DN 125, DN 150, and DN 200. Flanges are PN 16 up to DN 150, PN 10 for DN 200. The assembly utilizes 2 to 6 flame arrestor elements depending on DN to achieve the required flow cross-section.

Sizing

Selection is based on required gas flow and permissible pressure drop. Flow curves refer to air at ρ = 1.29 kg/m³ at 273 K; correction for other gases is required based on density.
