The Valvosider Y-Type Bellow Seal per DIN is a globe valve with an angled flow path. The Y geometry reduces local resistance compared to a traditional straight globe valve, maintaining its primary function: isolation and, with the appropriate disc, limited throttling. Suitable for steam, condensates, hot water, thermal oil, gases, and industrial fluids.
The series includes flanged DIN versions:
Body materials: 1.0619, 1.4408, 1.4581, depending on pressure, temperature, and media compatibility.
Construction features a bolted bonnet, outside screw and yoke, with rising stem, rising handwheel, and loose disc. The bellow is X6CrNiTi18-10. Gaskets are stainless steel reinforced with graphite, and secondary sealing is achieved with graphite rings and wiper rings.
Designed according to EN 12516, face-to-face per EN 12982 / EN 558, flanges per EN 1092, BW ends per DIN 3239, testing per EN 12266, marking EN 19, CE-PED, and material certificates EN 10204 3.1 / 3.2.
Selection should be based on PN, DN, temperature, differential pressure, body/trim material, and stem sealing requirements. For pressure below the disc, ΔP limits are: DN80 85 bar, DN150 21 bar, DN200 14 bar, DN300 6 bar, DN500 2.8 bar, DN600 2.2 bar. Above these, a gear operator or arrangement with pressure above the disc and bypass is required.
Options include top flange ISO 5210, gear, chain wheel, pneumatic, hydraulic or electric actuator, limit switches, locking/interlock, PTFE soft seats, stem extension, regulating disc, double-stage disc, stop-check disc, live loaded packing, drain plug, BW ends, and ANSI connections.
When to choose Y-Type over straight globe?
When a bellow seal isolation valve with lower pressure drop is required.
Can it be used for regulation?
Only with a regulating disc and control of ΔP, velocity, noise, and seat wear.
