ADLER VG2 Venturi-Port Split-Body Ball Valve

The ADLER VG2 is a two-piece, split-body ball valve with a Venturi bore, intended for shut-off duty on flanged process lines in ANSI Class 300 or PN25/PN40 service.

Standards and Certifications

Design and construction are aligned with EN 12516-2, ASME B16.34, EN 1759-1, ASME B16.5, ISO 14313, ANSI B16.10 and EN 558 basic series 4. Available executions include PED, ATEX, SIL 3, ISO 15848 Class A low-emission packing, oxygen service to ISO 23208, and fire-safe design to ISO 10497/API 607 or BS6755/API 607/6FA.

Sealing and Maintenance Considerations

The PTFE seat system is suitable for compatible liquids and gases within the material temperature and chemical limits. The Chevron stem packing supports controlled fugitive-emission performance, while the double body/end sealing arrangement reduces leakage paths at the split-body joint.

Typical Applications and Media

Used for isolation in water systems, compressed air, process gases, fuels and industrial liquids compatible with PTFE and the selected body metallurgy. Typical installations include utility headers, fuel handling skids, general process isolation, package units and flanged maintenance isolation points.

Variant Selection: VG2 versus VE2

Select VG2 where ANSI Class 300 pressure rating is required. Compared with the VE2, the VG2 is intended for higher pressure-class piping. The Venturi bore reduces valve body mass and envelope size, but it is not suitable for pigging or for services requiring a full pipeline internal bore.

FAQ

  • Is the VG2 full bore? No. It uses a Venturi port and should not be selected where full-bore cleaning, pig passage or minimum pressure drop is mandatory.
  • Can it be automated? Yes. The ISO 5211 top flange allows mounting of pneumatic, electric and positioner-equipped actuator packages.
  • What limits the media compatibility? Compatibility is governed by the PTFE seat, stem sealing materials and selected body/trim metallurgy.
